Fear is something that shows up in our most vulnerable moments. It can cloud our mind and fog our vision. Fear often comes from a place of not being able to control the outcome of a situation .. can you relate? Instead of telling you that this is a part of life, I want to fill your mind with a simple truth that holds so much power. Fear may hold weight, but these words hold more. “To surrender fear is to Gain freedom in this life on earth.” Before we begin college, we wonder about what these next four years will hold. We hope for genuine friendships and good stories to tell. Before we step into a new relationship, we plan for a future and a life led by love.
But that one thought lingers in the back of our minds, “But what if..”
What if I chose the wrong school?
What if it doesn't work out?
What if this is all too much for me to handle?
Sweet friend, regardless of what happens, I have good news for you. The Lord has your story perfectly written. The Trials and Joys you experience are all part of His plan. While you assumed that in all of the unexpected twist and turns He was absent, He was actually in the midst of them all. You wrote your plans in pencil, the Lord simply corrects your mistakes throughout life, and re-writes them in pen. I am a firm believer that the Lord's timing is unmatched. Have you ever been in a situation where things seem to fall perfectly into place? That was no coincidence. For example, the whole time I have been writing this, Oceans have played time after time. It served as a time of reflection. I began to think of the times that I felt as if I was walking into the unknown. Times that the Lord was my sovereign guide. This song gave me an insight that I never would have thought of on my own.
“You call me out upon the waters
The great unknown
Where feet may fail
And there I find You in the mystery
In oceans deep.”

From our perspective, the ocean is full of the unknown. It is wild, deep and full of things we cannot see. Sometimes this LIFE feels like the ocean - it is wild and full of things we cannot seem to comprehend. We have a choice to embrace the unknown, with trust that the Lord has control over the waves. We can enjoy the ride, or we can sit on the sidelines and miss the full experience of living. I encourage you to surround yourself with people who encourage you to live in the FREEDOM of walking with the Lord. The Best is YET to come.
