One day when you are looking back on your college days, you’ll realize it’s not all about the classes you take, or how many study hours you logged, but more importantly the people you spend those hours with. This past year, I spent my time living with sisters and growing a bond I didn’t know was possible! When you live with sisters you gain cooking partners, cuddle buddies, and even bug squashers. Day after day, you grow closer and before you even realize it, your sisters have become your family. It’s crazy how in such a short time you become so dependent on your sisters. When you share a home, you become each other’s helper, confidant, and even protector (let's all be serious, everyone's a little afraid of the dark). Sometimes, If I ever was out late, I would get a text that said something like “hey just making sure you haven’t been kidnapped.” It was comforting to know that my roomies were looking out for me.
The thing I loved most about living with sisters is that our apartment was open to all. Everyone knew they could come hang out or study with us at any time. It warmed my heart to know that my sisters always knew they were welcome. It was actually pretty rare if someone wasn’t at our apartment. It always lifted my spirit to walk into my apartment and see anywhere between 5-15 girls sitting in our living room doing homework or watching tv. I enjoyed the company and wouldn’t trade the conversations about our days for the world.

A few things you learn when you live with your sorority sisters is you gain multiple closets, more chauffeurs, and most importantly, an incredible support system. When I succeed, they celebrate with me, when I am nervous, they are my calm, when I’m upset, they are my shoulder to cry on. If I have a question about anything, they are always my go-to. Whether it’s about chapter or a question about laundry- they always give me the help I need. Living with sisters means some nights you have really deep convos and other nights you’re staying up half the night being super goofy or learning the newest tik tok dance.
One thing I will be forever grateful for is that one of my roomies turned into my best friend, someone I know who will stand beside me on my wedding day and will be a god mother to my kiddos. We laughed together, cried together, and even had sleepovers in each other’s rooms. She became my rock and someone I could be 100 % myself around.
Living with sisters brought me so much joy and so many happy memories. You grow and get to experience life together. I will always consider it one of my biggest blessings to be able to sleep under the same roof as my sisters.
